# Battery storage

> Store daytime solar for evenings, outages, and peak tariffs, sized to the loads you want to keep running.

## Keep your own solar power for the evening [.h4]

Panels produce the most at midday, but most homes use the most power in the evening. A battery stores what you don't use during the day and releases it when the sun goes down, during peak tariff hours, or when the grid fails.

We size each battery to the loads you want to keep running. For some homes that is lights, the fridge, and the internet. For others it is the whole house, including the heat pump. We look at your usage and your solar output and recommend a capacity that will be filled most days, so you aren't paying for storage that sits empty.

Batteries can be added to a new system or retrofitted to panels you already have. If your current inverter can't handle storage, we'll tell you up front and quote the change.

3. How long does the install take? Usually one day, with a short power cut while we connect it.
